National Dance Theatre – Budapest

The theatre was formed from the transformer factory of the former Ganz Electricity Works, a protected industrial monument, between 2017 and 2018. The facility, which functions as an inclusive theatre, is the central playground of Hungarian dance art life. Visitors are greeted by an impressive lobby and two theatres, equipped with state-of-the-art stage and lighting technology. The undulating shape of the façade and canopy is meant to symbolize the dynamism of dance and with its appearance is one of the most characteristic buildings of the Millennium Park. In 2020, it won the Construction Industry Award.
